Last year I was stopped by a boy, in Bucharest, „India” neighbourhood. We were there to help their families with food parcels. He was about 10 or 12, dirty, with big – worked hands. The boy shared with me that his biggest dream was to be a gentleman one day, to have his own company, to leave the poor house where he first saw the light on this earth, to be able to help his family more.
„But I may never get that”, he stopped dreaming after a while. „My parents cannot afford to send me to school”, replied with a sad face, when I asked why.
Minutes later, after I tried to encourage him, the boy turned to me and said:
„Yes. I got to have my schoolbag. Will you help me with that”?
This boy’s faith, his pure dreams, inspired us and all the Hope Rescue Centre’s friends. 160 children benefited as a result of your love, receiving schoolbags, the required items and clothing.
We want to do it again, this year. If we cannot do much to change their present, we can really determine their future, by helping them to receive proper education. We have a list of 100 children, boys and girls dreaming about a better future. They all look to us and say:
„Yes. I got to have my schoolbag. Will you help me with that”?
What can you do? Get involved! Invest in the future of the society.” Adopt” a child for this school year beginning and provide what minimum required for that (according with their age and grade). You will find them all in the table below. Choose one and let us know, to check that you will be dealing with that. If you have no idea what is required, every bookstore seller can tell you what the backpack should contain. Our priority should be the school backpack and the school items. Keep in mind, though, that, in order to go to school, a child will also need shoes, pants, a shirt, etc. If you can, please add some of these items in your bag! If you do not have the time, you can donate in Hope Rescue Centre’s bank account. You can do this by clicking HERE. For only 25 euros you can cover the basic needs for the beginning of the school year. Let us know which child you chose and one of our volunteers will help with the shopping.
