The Hope Summer Camps won’be the same without Andrei. Even if he is only 21, he has the mind and the heart of a father. Andrei is the man you can count on anytime, always available and good at everything. This year Andrei gave up, again, to half of his vacation, to make himself available to serve the children lacking hope. These are some of Andrei thoughts, at the end of this summer.

Hi everyone!
My name is Andrei Gheorghe, I`m 21 years old and I had the opportunity to be a volunteer in two Hope summer camps this year, and I want you to know how it feels to be part of it!
For me, a Hope Summer Camp is just like a different world. Once you are part of this world, you`ll meet the most amazing people from everywhere around, dedicated to make a difference into other people`s life. You`ll also meet the most amazing children, that often have the simplest desires like sleeping in a bed, taking a shower at night, or simply having someone to hold their hands. Being able to dedicate myself to these kids, was amazing and exhausting at the same time… I remember a day of the first camp when, after we just sent the kids to sleep, I just collapsed saying that it must be around 12 PM…. I looked at the clock and it was only 9 pm.
Probably the most important thing in here is to create a bound; that bound will allow you to help these kids more than you think! They are really sticky and love hungry once they find out you want them to be just kids! We managed to create special bounds through amazing games, great skits and really fun singing and dancing times!
We also had night groups, where we would find out stories with problems that no child should never encounter! They would open themselves and tell you all the stories from their life, how they know it`s unfair but manage to pass through and enjoy the tiniest things in life. Their gratitude for everything, no matter how big of a deal is or not made me feel so small…
I`m really happy that we showed them a different side of the world, the normal one…in which they are learned to hug and not curse the one next to them…in which they are allowed to be kids, not adults…in which they have food and shower. Just because…these children`s wounded soul need a spark of hope!
Can`t wait for future encounters with these kids!

What can we add more? Good job, Andrei! We will definitely wait for you to join us up again….
